On March 1, 2017 the Minerva family lost one of its most beloved members as Russ Cook passed away from complications of a sudden brain injury.
It is with heavy hearts filled with memories and proof of Russ’ positive impact that we share this news with the Minerva community. Russ leaves a tremendous legacy through his contributions to Minerva. As an active board member for five years, he chaired the Finance Committee as well as the Combining Our Strength (COS) Council.
He had a way of knowing when to speak up and when to prompt others to do so. His awareness of his own influence and his deliberate use of his platform to shine a light on those who were fortunate enough to know him – made him a man ahead of his time, a man who knew that elevating others didn’t diminish his position, but grew his community and his impact.
Minerva extends our deepest sympathies to Russ’ wife, Karen, his sons Alex and Liam, and his daughter, Amelia. We will miss him dearly and remember him in everything we do.
