Education Awards are made possible with support from many educational institutions and organizations in BC. As a well-established program, Education Awards has a wide reach to attract a large pool of candidates, from which we are able to select the most deserving students who have a tremendous drive to be academically and professionally successful. Currently, we partner with: Emily Carr University of Art & Design, Royal Roads University, Simon Fraser University, Thompson Rivers University, University of British Columbia, British Columbia Institute of Technology, College of the Rockies, Douglas College, Justice Institute of British Columbia, Northern Lights College, Northwest Community College, North Island College, Vancouver Community College and BC Housing.

There are two options for partnering with Education Awards:

Option 1:  Matching Funds Educational institutions and organizations match donations from individual donors making it possible to offer significantly greater amounts in education awards to eligible candidates. This is a simple and rewarding way for organizations to act on their philanthropic goals, and support women become greater future contributors in BC communities. Matching funding partnerships can be for one to five years, up to any predetermined amount.

Option 2:  Administering Awards Educational institutions take on the responsibility of administering the education awards based on award eligibility criteria as set forth by the donors and the Minerva Foundation. Administration is typically through the school’s financial aids office or awards/bursaries office. 40% of funds are matched by institutions.  Over $2 million in awards have benefited more than 1000 women in BC since the program’s inception in 2001.
