The Face of Leadership™ BC Scorecard: Making the presence of women in leadership a reality.
Studies consistently show that gender diversity correlates with better business outcomes. However, very little in the leadership landscape has changed in the past 10 years and at the current rate, it will be another 170 years before women can expect professional parity. Minerva BC’s Face of Leadership™ BC Scorecard is part of an overall initiative to make the presence of women in leadership a reality.
On November 17, 2015, Minerva launched the first edition of the Scorecard, featuring the 28 largest businesses in BC (by revenue). The report clearly depicts how they are faring, in terms of gender diversity in leadership.
Our exclusive research funding partner, Vancity, had this to say about the first edition:
“The Face of Leadership™ BC Scorecard is about real conversations based on real information.” said Tamara Vrooman, President and CEO. “Today marks the beginning. We have work to do, and together, we can make a difference for our future leaders.”
The third edition of the Face of Leadership™ Scorecard was launched on October 18, 2017 and is available for viewing here.
Key highlights from the 2017 report include:
- 18/50 organizations had no women directors
- 14/50 of surveyed BC organizations had no women on senior executive teams
- 19% – Average female representation on boards of directors
- 20% – Average female representation on senior executive leadership positions
