Lizzie Li: Minerva’s New Digital Communications Coordinator

Meet Lizzie, a recent graduate of Cornell University’s Communication and Development Sociology programs. Through her undergraduate training, she became interested in the intersection of social justice and technology and learned how to communicate effectively, ethically, and cross-culturally. She brings her strategic thinking and creative spirit to the Minerva team. Welcome, Lizzie!

This year, Minerva BC is pleased to host two dates for the Face of Leadership™ Luncheon, bringing together business leaders in Prince George and Vancouver for an afternoon of leadership learning and networking.

In the Spring of 2017, Minerva BC received a compelling Learning to Lead™ application from a high school student in Kamloops. Autumn Walkem, in Grade 11 at the time, expressed a deep interest in developing her confidence, using her voice, and learning about her own potential for leadership. There was a personal stake for Autumn, who wanted to better represent her indigenous community and “be a voice to protect the earth”.

It was another fabulous weekend at St. John’s College (UBC) for Learning to Lead™ presented by Shaw. Congratulations to all 50 girls for showing up wholeheartedly and being ready to connect, reflect, and embrace the experience.

Spring Fling brought Women Leading the Way™ alumnae together to reconnect over wine and new wear.

Today, we’re remembering Russ, and we know you are too. Russ was a huge part of Minerva BC. As a board member, friend, and mentor, he changed our organization and influenced our lives with his generosity, thoughtful leadership and willingness to ask tough questions.
